Just to let everyone know I am getting most of this off of Jade's site:
http://tgchristian.humanfish.net/index.html
I have already read most of these before but I like the way Jade puts it together, I am going to repeat it very roughly, if you want the whole jist of it please visit her site above.
Her point about the verse
Deut 22:5 (King James):
The woman shall not wear that which pertains unto a man; neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all who do so are abominations unto the LORD thy God.
She makes the same points I have tried to make to myself and to others. These were mainly Jewish laws, there are plenty of laws in these older books that we do not adhere to. Like the tassels on the clothing and I seen one verse that said we must have a fence or something similar so no blood would be shed from there (this isn't the exact quote, it's not to far from the above mentioned verse) it would seem absurd to do that today.
She also made a great point about some people think it's weird. That is the same point again I tried making to my wife of course she wasn't listening or didn't care at that point.
You know that was a major reason why the Romans started using Christians in the Coliseum; they started hearing things like they drink Jesus’ blood and eat His flesh. The Romans were actually very tolerant of other religions they had to be look at all the different cultures they engulfed. They were also very orderly and disliked chaos or disorder and to them having a religion in their midst that did what Christianity said it did was intolerable.
But she is right just because something doesn't fit into what you feel is right doesn't mean that God sees it the same. God doesn't follow our culture, there are other cultures that men wear skirts or what we would consider skirts. Also other cultures have a third gender, like
Also, another thing that I have thought about is CD’ing is of the flesh, it is only a hindrance if you put it before God just like with anything. There is nothing wrong with having pleasures in your life and that can come in many forms.
Also some people thing it is deceptive to dress as a woman if you are physically a male. People are all the time changing the way they look to fit the image they see themselves, be it a toupee, wig, or anything someone may use to alter their physical appearance.
Also witnessing to those that are lost, Jade says all this way better than I do. There are all manner of people in this world and they don't all fit into textbook Christianity I think someone who doesn't quite fit in is a better witness than someone who is the "perfect Christian" I am not saying we don't need to strive for that, but we all fall way short. Jesus just wants you He doesn't care whether you’re in a dress or in pants, bald or hairy. or any other comparisons you would like to make.
